We report the call to the march of the Campanian Struggle Movements that inspired the artwork.
" AGAINST EVICTIONS, WAR AND REPRESSION, LOVE THAT RESISTS
REGIONAL PROCESSION IN DEFENSE OF FREEDOM SPACES
The recent attacks on Officina 99, GRIDAS, Insurgencia, Carlo Giuliani, Civico 7, CPRS, the Spazio Occupato Banchi Nuovi, and other social spaces are part of a broader zero-tolerance agenda promoted by the current government against self-managed organizations. Following the evictions of Leoncavallo and Askatasuna, the threat extends to numerous occupations across Italy: it is against the Movement that, in Italy and around the world, is taking revenge in the streets in support of the Palestinian people.
For decades, occupied and self-managed spaces have been places of vital and necessary practices: mutual aid, self-production; political initiatives against all forms of oppression based on class, gender, and origin; for social and environmental ecology; against the privatization of common goods; and for internationalist solidarity and the self-determination of peoples, starting with the Palestinians and Kurds.
Their criminalization is part of a comprehensive political plan for a permanent emergency, which serves to divert attention from real problems: healthcare, housing, schools, jobs, income, the environment, social services.
The current government, while supporting a war economy and aligning itself with the war policies of the EU and NATO, actively contributing to the genocide in Palestine, is intensifying repression: militarization of the streets, the Anti-Rave Decree, Red Zones, Law 80/2025, and the new "Security Package".
But we will not be intimidated. We call for mobilization: occupied and self-managed spaces, workers, unemployed people, students, precarious workers, migrants, artists, and all those who reject the cage they are building around our lives. Let us stand alongside social spaces, reject the war economy, and counter it with collective strength, the joy of life and struggle. Let us defend social and self-managed spaces against fascism, repression, patriarchy, and authoritarianism.
